from memory is a photographic study made entirely on 35mm film.

Each image was created in the middle of real moments: men washing dishes, sitting in a bathtub, folding laundry, resting after a long night. Nothing was staged, and nothing was asked of them beyond being as they were.

The work centers various expressions of Black male sensuality without performance or exaggeration.

It follows the quiet gestures that stay with you: a smile in low light, the tension of a shower curtain pulled back, the way a room shifts when someone finally relaxes.

Printed as a softcover photo book, from memory gathers these encounters into a single artifact. Each one grounded in emotional recall. What remains is not documentation in the strict sense, but the shape of a moment in hindsight.

Every copy features full-bleed photographs, chapter openers, and fragmented texts that trace the emotional arc of the project.
